In standard PowerBI.com environments, you can easily paste multiple values from your clipboard directly into a report slicer search bar. However, because Webdashboard securely embeds Power BI reports within an iframe container, standard keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V on Mac) are restricted by your browser's security settings and will not work directly inside the report canvas.

To solve this, we have introduced a dedicated Paste Clipboard button in the Webdashboard top toolbar. This allows you to quickly paste and apply list values directly into your active slicer.

How to use the Paste feature

Follow these simple steps to paste clipboard values (such as a list of names, IDs, or codes) into your report's slicer search:

  1. Copy your data: Copy the text or list of values you want to search for from another application (e.g., Excel, Notepad, or an email).

  2. Select the Slicer: Click on the search bar of the slicer you want to filter in your Webdashboard report (for example, the AccountName search field).

  3. Use the Paste button: Click the Paste Clipboard icon (clipboard with a document) in the top-left toolbar of your Webdashboard window.

    • Note: as shown in the screenshot below.

  4. Grant permission (if prompted): The first time you use this feature, your web browser may ask for permission to access your clipboard. Click Allow to proceed.

The copied content will instantly be pasted into your selected slicer search field, allowing you to filter your report immediately.

Look for the clipboard icon on the far left of the top menu bar:

The "Paste Clipboard" button in the upper-left corner of the Webdashboard header allows you to bypass iframe security blocks and paste directly into your active slicer.
