This article describes all the possibilities that you have in Webdashboard to brand and customize your portal and how to edit it. The result can be a fully branded portal that does not have any Webdashboard branding anymore, instead everything in your own company style for recognizability for your users. It can also allow for clarification, storytelling, and quicker navigation for users.
Theme:
Via ‘Settings’ > ‘Theme’ you can access the theming menu.
Here you can first of all edit the logo (recommended size: 860x162) and the colors of backgrounds, texts, buttons, icons of the:
You can also edit the logo and closing text of e-mails (e.g. invites sent to users) and test them. If you want to customize the contents of the e-mails, have a look at Whitelabeling below.
In the same theming menu, the option ‘Select default theme’ (top right corner), allows you to reset back to one of Webdashboard’s default themes. Here you can also export and import colors of a theme, to save for later.
Important: don’t forget to click ‘Save’ after making adjustments.
You will then get a confirmation pop-up for 10 seconds, so you can cancel in case you made a mistake, after which it will automatically take effect. It might be you have to refresh (Ctrl+F5) to clear cache.
Homepage & Workspace customization:
You can change the backgrounds of the homepage and individual workspaces by navigating to the workspace or homepage, clicking the ‘Edit’ button in the right bottom corner and then clicking the paint palette icon.
For the homepage, you can choose to hide the title, and add a background color or image (recommended size: 1920x10180)
For the workspace homepages, you can do the same, as well as change the ‘badge’ of the workpace. You can choose to change the characters to 1 or 2 different ones. Or you can upload an image to use as a workspace badge (recommended size: 205x205 )
Widgets:
Widgets can be used on both workspace pages and homepages to add extra customization and elements to your portal.
You add a widget by clicking the ‘Edit’ button (right bottom corner) and then clicking ‘Widgets’, then choosing from the following:
You can drag, drop and resize all the widgets to fit to your screen once you’re in the edit-mode if you’ve clicked on the Edit button.

- Global items

- Reports: you can select to showcase quick-links to several reports, also to reports in different workspaces
- Favorites: you can select a few favorites to showcase as quick-links, also to reports in different workspaces
- Text & Link + Image & Link: use these widgets to post a general message, instructions, , add pictures, create a button, etc. You can add a link to navigate to.
- Report visual: you can showcase a specific visual from a specific report, to which you can quickly navigate. In this way you can create a dashboard from multiple reports.
Navigate to the report you want to add a visual from and click the 3 dots of the visual. Click ‘Pin to workspace’. - Recently used: showcasing which reports you have recently accessed, so this can be different per user
- Slideshow: quickly navigate to slideshows which an admin can create. For example for a meeting, or for broadcasting purposes, you can create a slideshow from different reports and tabs.
- External content: embed external links, like a weather forecast, a video from youtube, a social media feed, or whatever can be embedded.
You can drag, drop and resize all the widgets to fit to your screen once you’re in the edit-mode if you’ve clicked on the Edit button.
Whitelabeling:
Full whitelabeling allows you to change and customize:
- The portal’s URL (custom domain), for example: insights.yourcompany.com
- Page title (appearing in the browser tab)
- Favicon (little icon in browser tab): is a .ico file. You can convert png's to .ico here: Online ICO converter
- Support link (where users are directed if they need support)
- Logon screen (loading screen appearing before you’re redirected to your portal), background recommended size: 1920x1080 & logo recommended size: 205x205
- E-mails (for example invites sent to users) incl. social media links
- The font of all text in the portal
